Belden launches Hirschmann BXP Managed Switch

The Hirschmann BXP (BOBCAT eXtreme Performance) managed Ethernet switch from Belden introduces several key features and benefits tailored to railway rolling stock applications.

The switch boasts a compact design, ideal for installation in constrained spaces within trains, while still offering enhanced flexibility and interoperability to seamlessly integrate with various onboard equipment and devices.

With speeds of up to 10 gigabits per second (Gbps), the switch ensures high-speed connectivity to support data-intensive applications such as high-speed cameras and internet devices onboard trains.  Available in 20-port and 28-port variants, the switch provides high port density, facilitating the connection of numerous network devices to support diverse onboard functionalities.

The switch is future-ready with up to 6x 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GE) ports, ensuring robust bandwidth and speed for current and future expansion needs.  Support for Power over Ethernet (PoE++) with a capability of up to 120 watts simplifies installation and reduces the need for additional power sources, meeting the high power demands of onboard devices.
