Job Title: Business Development Manager
Location: 
Horsham, West Sussex 
Hours: 
37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Aerco is a stockist distributor of electrical and electronic components serving high-reliability manufacturing companies across the UK. The business is growing and we now have a vacancy for a Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our team.

Our BDMs drive our sales activities by creating great relationships with our customers, being aware of their needs and the products Aerco supplies. They take the lead in negotiating with customers to win profitable orders.

You Will

  • Respond to customer requests for quotation, evaluate the options and issue quotes.
  • Track open quotations and negotiate to win profitable sales.
  • Learn the needs and wants of key customers and position Aerco to be their preferred supplier.
  • Continuously learn about Aerco’s supported franchises and products.
  • Provide post-sales support to your customers to maximise repeat business.

About You

  • Can communicate effectively in writing, verbally and through electronic media.
  • Have a strong desire to succeed in satisfying customer needs and closing new business.
  • Have great interpersonal skills and can build winning business relationships.
  • Have an enquiring mind and seek to understand the functions and features of the components we deal with.

Job Title: Component Engineer
Salary range: £38,000 to £42,000 per annum
Location: Office based in Horsham, West Sussex
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

The Role

The Component Engineer is responsible for part number set-up and configuration, and associated technical tasks. Aerco’s business operates through purchasing from franchised and non-franchised suppliers. The component engineer will be responsible for non-franchised technical queries received from our customers. Record keeping and updating the MRP system will be integral parts of this role.

The component engineer will be responsible for part number set-up, additionally they will support the business with; BOM set-up and testing, before passing BOM activities to Production for approval.

Some of Aerco’s large military OEM customers like to buy part numbers under their own PN scheme. The component engineer will be responsible for reading these drawings, supporting the BDM’s with identifying supplier options, and translating this information onto Aerco’s MRP system.

This is a varied role, based around technical product competence. There is an expectation on understanding where to look for technical records and making this information available publicly within Aerco. This is primarily a desk based role, however there will be times when a hands-on approach is needed, when product inspection and verification is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Updating product files within Aerco’s MRP system, including introduction of new products, and maintenance of BOM information
  • Maintaining an up-to-date awareness of the product categories and product ranges
  • Support the sales team with understanding what products or manufacturers are qualified to supply to our customers and help translate requirements through our MRP system
  • Ensure Aerco has adequate resources for product inspection, maintaining a library of catalogues, datasheets and technical drawings
  • Verifiying, logging and storing of technical drawings from both customers and suppliers
  • Leading physical inspection activities, supporting inspectors and quality dept

Job Title: Manufacturing and Assemby Engineer
Salary range: £32,000 to £36,000 per annum
Location: Office based in Horsham, West Sussex
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

The Role

The Manufacturing & Assembly Engineer is responsible for both hands-on assembly of connectors and electronic products, and for supporting and improving the associated manufacturing processes. The role combines technical assembly work with process engineering, ensuring that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute towards the production and assembly work capacity. Take a lead in the more technical assembly activities
  • Design, publish and maintain routing for works orders, to give operators clear instructions on the sequence of build process, the equipment to be used, and records to be maintained
  • Assist in first off / new product builds, create and then maintain standard work utilising process instructions and Quality Care Points as needed to deliver consistent process outputs, complying with Heath & Safety and Quality requirements
  • Create a publish learning Quality Care Points for technical product builds. This will include assessing work areas and tooling before starting an assembly job
  • Assist with training of other Operation staff in safe and correct application of assembly processes and use of tooling and equipment
  • Contribute towards the administration of label creation, and using correct IT solutions for printing
  • Conduct preventative maintenance for inhouse Production equipment, addressing any issues identified and updating service records accordingly
  • When Production workload allows, contribute towards the Operations Inspection activities. Both Goods In and customer specific Goods Out inspection will require support
  • Be responsible for you own health and safety at work and to safeguard the health, safety and welfare of all personnel within the department

What We’re Looking For

  • Someone who is aware of the operational procedures and practices in Electro-Mechanical Production
  • An enquiring mind, seeks clarity and accuracy of information at all times
  • Has awareness or certification in the following: IPC-J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 HSD tinning, NASA-STD-8739.3 Soldered electrical connections, BS-EN-IEC-60352-2 Solderless connections & crimped connections.
  • Familiar with the tools and processes in Electro-Mechanical Production
  • Methodical approach to tasks and pays attention to detail
  • IT competent
