Industrial IoT Edge gateways

An Industrial IoT (Internet of Things) Gateway is a specialized device that connects industrial equipment, sensors, and control systems to cloud-based or on-premises platforms for data processing, monitoring, and analysis. It acts as a bridge between operational technology (OT) systems and IT systems, enabling seamless communication and integration of industrial data into IoT ecosystems.

Some of these IoT gateways equipped with edge computing capabilities can process and analyze data locally, near the source of generation, rather than relying on cloud servers. By deploying containerised applications, these gateways provide a flexible and efficient way to handle edge computing workloads in industrial environments.

The applications include Data Aggregation, Data Processing, Connectivity, Security, Remote Management, Protocol Translation and Edge-to-Cloud Integration.
