The latest in rugged, high-speed interconnect technology has arrived with the launch of the KVPX Series, designed specifically for extreme conditions. Developed to meet the demanding VITA standards, the KVPX Series connectors provide secure, reliable data transfer in high-vibration, high-shock environments, making them ideal for aerospace, defence, and space applications.
Supporting data speeds up to 16 Gbps, the KVPX Series offers impressive versatility. This modular connector system is compatible with VITA 46, 47, and 78 (Space) standards, allowing it to adapt easily to both 3U and 6U configurations. Custom layouts are also available, broadening its potential uses. With faceplate shielding to protect delicate pins on daughtercards, the connectors feature press-fit termination for added stability.
These connectors are particularly suited for data intensive applications such as Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), radar systems, and Electronic Countermeasures (ECM). The KVPX Series integrates advanced Hypertac hyperboloid sockets, a technology known for its self-cleaning properties and exceptional resilience against wear from frequent use. This ensures consistent connection quality, even under extreme conditions.
Backplane modules are available in 8- and 16-row options on a 1.8mm x 1.8mm grid, offering flexibility for various system designs. Speeds can scale from 80 Mbps to over 10 Gbps, while maintaining the industry-standard VITA 46 backplane slot pitch.
With this new release, the VITA approved, KVPX Series, aims to set a new standard for high-speed, ruggedized interconnect solutions in the aerospace and defence sectors.
