Limited Fire Hazard Defence Standard cables

Defence Standard products have been rigorously tested to ensure they meet the high safety and reliability criteria needed for military and defence applications.  Experienced cable manufacturer, Amokabel, produces a range of Def-Stan products including Limited Fire Hazard products.

Def-Stan cable 02-526, formerly known as NES526, is concerned with the manufacture and testing requirements of cable used in HM Surface Ships and Submarines for power, lighting, control communications, and instrumentation circuits.  Designed to operate in an environment where it may encounter fluids such as fuel and lubricating oils, the rubber cable produces much lower levels of smoke and toxic fumes in the event of a fire.

Cables manufactured to Def Stan 02-256 must have dual extrusion insulation, have a halogen-free inner layer, and a Limited Fire Hazard (LFH) Def Stan 61-12 Part 31 outer layer.  They must be rated 440 Volts between cores and earth/screens and withstand up to 400 Hz.  They come in shielded and un-shielded options and single and multiconductor cable.
