MIL-DTL 38999 Series IV

MIL Spec connectors are designed to perform in extreme conditions, and the MIL DTL 38999 family is one of the most trusted ranges in defence and aerospace. All series share strong environmental sealing, EMI shielding, and rugged construction but each offers a different coupling mechanism. That’s what makes the Series IV so distinctive.

Series IV uses a breech lock quick disconnect system, often described as a push pull quick lock. With only a 90° twist or a simple push pull action, the connector mates and locks securely. This makes it the fastest mating connector in the 38999 family. While other versions use bayonet (Series I & II) or threaded couplings (Series III), none match Series IV for speed and ease of use. Due to its unique design, it isn’t intermateable with the other series, but its performance benefits often outweigh this limitation.

Like all 38999 variants, Series IV is scoop proof, environmentally sealed, and offers excellent EMI protection, helping prevent contact damage and ensuring reliable communication in harsh environments.
